Sorry for the long delay. You'll have to go through the elders in whichever community the river pass thru. If there are people already farming the land, ask them.

Inspiring! Planting them close together is the best. It will block out light and prevent weed growth. U'll also hav more plants per unit area.

I dont think so. It will be harder to manage. Weeding will be difficult too. It is best to plant them in beds that is 1m wide and as long as possible. With this method, you can easily weed, spray pesticides etc.

I agree with you. But I think that they do it that way to make watering easier. But with equiptment like spray tube, that their method wont be neccessary.
