Chickens: When is the best time of the day to weigh egg layers to obtain best result?
#1
I’ve read that birds should be weighed regularly so as to know how much feed to give. To get the correct body weight, when do you think is the best time to weigh them?

Weigh in the morning before feeding. That way feed in their crop won't add to their actual weight.

@Manger, but the eggs in them can still influence their actual weight. My birds are always heavier in the morning due to the eggs in them. So I think the best time to get the body weight is after most of them have laid eggs, and that's around 12 O'clock or so. Or better still, watch and weigh those that have laid eggs and do so before feeding.
