Exclusive Breast Feeding may not be Good
#1
I got this from Facebook. Please don't  make the same mistake.

How We Almost Lost Our Son Because of Ignorance.

My son is turning 4 years old tomorrow, and earlier today, I stumbled on one of his baby pictures taken when he was just about 2 months old. (TOP PICTURE)

When I saw that picture, I almost cried.
He looked so tiny, so malnourished, and so weak.
Each time I remember that period, I’m still moved to tears and I find myself apologizing to him over and over again.

You see, he’s our first child.
And like every new parent, we wanted to do everything right.
So we decided to give him 6 months of exclusive breastfeeding. No water, no formula, just breast milk.

Of course, that’s a beautiful thing to do.
We’d heard of all the benefits, stronger immunity, better bonding, healthier babies.
But what we didn’t know was that my wife’s breast milk wasn’t flowing enough.

So, our son was sucking, but not getting enough milk.
He would cry non-stop, always wanting to suck and that was the only thing that could calm him down.
The moment he opened his eyes, he’d cry again.
We thought it was normal. We thought maybe he’s just clingy.

Until one day when he was 3 months old, we went to a friend’s child dedication.
Her baby was also 3 months old but so chubby, healthy, and full of life.
Then we looked at our son and the difference broke our hearts.

That night, my wife and I talked.
We decided to try giving him some formula.
We bought a can of milk, mixed it, and fed him.

Immediately after he drank it, he belched and slept peacefully.
For the first time in three months, he woke up and didn’t cry.
He just looked around, smiled, and played.

That was when we knew this boy had been hungry for three whole months.

My wife broke down crying that day.
I felt so guilty, but also so thankful that we found out when we did.
Within a month, he transformed. Chubby cheeks, bright eyes, full of energy.

As he turns 4 years old, I’m just grateful to God.
If not for His mercy and timely intervention, maybe our story would have been different.

So, please, help me wish my son a Happy Birthday in advance.
My strong boy full of life, joy, and laughter.
Happy Birthday, son. Daddy and mummy love you. ❤️
