Chickens: Shelless Eggs Causes
#1
I’ve noticed some shelless eggs among my birds, especially when they’re sick. What could be the cause even when they're healthy? Could it be a sign of impending sickness?

It is common when they're sick or when they start laying for the first time. Newcastle disease, infectious bronchitis, egg drop syndrome etc can cause it.

I agree with manihot. Shelless eggs can occur when no disease is present. If your birds start laying earlier than usual, you may get some shelless eggs. It can also happen when the birds are disturbed or frightened. Another possible cause apart from diseases is poor nutrition, esp lack of calcium and vitamin D3.
