What do you mean by dry matter?

I come across this term when reading something about feed, what does it mean?

Materials like droppings, sawdust, grass, feed etc contains both solid and liquid. Dry matter is the percentage of solid in the material. See http://www.farmersjoint.com/blog/general...ry-litter/
