AFTER SPENDING 600k TO START, CAN 50 LAYERS ACTUALLY PAY YOU BACK?

Before you jump into this calculation, if you missed Part 1, go back to our previous post here http://farmersjoint.com/thread-31856.html

In Part 1, we broke down how much it can cost to set up a 50-layer operation and how much you may spend before getting your first egg.

Now, let’s calculate the possible income.

But first, let me make something clear.

In business, you must plan for both good days and difficult days.

You cannot build your business plan around the assumption that everything will always go perfectly.

That is why we are using 75% production for this calculation.

After allowing for 10% mortality, we have approximately 45 birds remaining.

At 75% production, the birds can produce approximately:

34 eggs per day.

236 eggs per week.

About 1,013 eggs per month.

That is approximately 34 crates of eggs monthly.

Some farmers may achieve 85% or even 90% production with proper management, good genetics, good feeding and proper health management.

But we are using 75% because business calculations should be realistic.

Now let’s calculate the expenses.

FEED:

At an average feed intake of approximately 110 to 120 grams per bird per day, 45 layers can consume approximately 1.5 bags of 25kg feed weekly.

Using the current feed price in my location:

₦13,300 per bag × approximately 6 bags per month

= ₦79,800 monthly on feed.

The price of layer feed may be different in your location, so always use the current price around you.

MEDICATION AND OTHER FARM EXPENSES:

Let’s budget ₦10,000 monthly.

LOGISTICS:

Let’s budget another ₦10,000 monthly.

That gives us ₦20,000 monthly for medication, logistics and other small expenses.

However, if you are the person managing the farm yourself, I will still advise you to remove a salary for yourself.

Many farmers make this mistake.

They say, “I am the owner, so I don’t need a salary.”

That is wrong.

Your time has value.

Even if you are the one feeding the birds, cleaning the pen, selling the eggs and managing everything, you should still learn to separate business profit from your personal income.

For this calculation, let’s also consider your monthly salary as part of the business expenses.

Now let’s look at the income.

Egg prices can change depending on your location, market and egg size.

At the beginning, when the birds start laying, the eggs may be smaller and may sell at a lower price.

Later, as the eggs increase in size, the price can improve.

So, for this calculation, let’s use an average selling price of ₦4,700 per crate.

34 crates × ₦4,700

= ₦159,800 monthly revenue.

Now, after removing the estimated monthly expenses, you can calculate the possible monthly profit.

But remember this.

This is not a promise of profit.

This is a business projection.

Your actual result will depend on your feed price, egg price, mortality, production rate, management, disease control and marketing.

Now let’s look at the long-term picture.

If you calculate the monthly profit over 18 months, which is one and a half years, and then add the money you can recover from selling the spent layers at the end of their production cycle, you will have a clearer picture of the total return from the business.

Spent layers can sell for approximately ₦8,000 to ₦9,000 depending on the market and the condition of the birds.

So, you also calculate:

Number of remaining birds × spent layer selling price.

Then add that to the total profit generated from the eggs.

This is how you should analyse a poultry business.

Not by saying:

“I heard someone is making money from layers.”

And not by saying:

“Someone told me broilers are more profitable.”

You must calculate your own numbers.

The real question is:

DOES 50-LAYER FARMING MAKE SENSE AS A SIDE BUSINESS?

Or would you rather invest the same money into broiler production?

That is the discussion.

In my opinion, I will be sharing my own position tomorrow morning.

We will compare:

50 laying birds.

300 crates of eggs per week.

Which one makes more business sense?

Which one requires more capital?

Which one has better profit potential?

And which one is better for a beginner?

I will share my honest opinion tomorrow.

But before then, I want to hear from you.

WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Is starting with 50 layers a good side hustle?

Or would you rather start with broilers?

Share your opinion in the comment section.

I will be there to read and respond because beginners can also learn from the discussion.

The mainstream media would never report on this, because it would threaten Big Ag in America.

Italian farmers are building a seed network to fight GMOs and corporate control.

This is how small farmers across Italy are banding together to help save seeds:

The project has the name “Casa Diffusa dei Semi,” the Distributed Seed House.

Here’s the concept:

A network of growers who save, reproduce, and share seeds completely free of patents and genetic modification, an alternative to a corporate system controlled by just four companies that hold over half the world’s seed supply.

On August 7th, this five-year-old network gathered at a farmhouse in the Marche hills to teach people how to save, trade, and pass down seeds no company can patent.

The event sold out in a single week, after one Facebook post drew over 1,600 sign-ons in just days.

The timing is key here, given two months earlier, the European Parliament voted to deregulate a new category of genetically modified crops, eliminating mandatory risk assessment, traceability, and labeling, while opening the door to patents on conventionally bred plants too.

Twenty Italian organizations publicly condemned the vote, warning it would only tighten corporate control over the world’s seed supply.

So instead of waiting on lawmakers, these farmers built their own seed system.

Let’s take this as inspiration in America, and support the farmers protecting seed freedom. You can find them on Localize.
In Psalm 51, King David calls out, "Purify me with hyssop, and I shall be clean."

In Exodus, God commanded the Israelites to use hyssop branches to paint their door frames with blood during Passover. And in the New Testament, it was a branch of Hyssop that was used to carry the sponge with vinegar to Jesus on the cross.

Why does this tiny herb of the mint family appear in times of greatest "purification" and medical emergency of ancient times? Because the Hyssopus (Hyssopus officinalis) wasn't just a symbol. It's one of the fiercest antiviral and mucolytic agents growing in the Mediterranean basin.

The Mucus Unclogger

If you have severe bronchitis, asthma, or are recovering from a brutal respiratory virus, your lungs fill with poo. This booger gets stiff, sticky, and hard like glue. You can't cough it up no matter how hard you try, and it turns into a growing broth for bacterial pneumonia.

Hyssopus Essential Oil contains powerful ketones and phenols (including acanphor and marrubiine).

...

These botanical compounds have a primary biological job: dissolve phlegm.

They act like a chemical detergent or "unplug" directly into your lungs. When you inhale its fumes, they physically break the protein bonds that hold that thick pacifier together. The mucus becomes thin and watery (Mucolitic Effect).

Simultaneously, the Hyssop acts as an Excitatory Expectorant. Gently irritates the respiratory tract, forcing your lungs to generate a "productive cough" to spit out that freshly-liqued phlegm and clear your airways for good.

Protocol :

The Hyssop Vapor Inhalation:

Warning: Due to its high content of ketones, Hyssop oil should NOT be used by pregnant women or people with epilepsy (ketones can stimulate the central nervous system).

The Steam Bath: The best way to get this medicine into your lungs is not by swallowing it, it's by inhaling it. Boil 4 cups of water and pour into a large glass bowl or container.

The Purifying Agent: Add 2 drops of Pure Hyssop Essential Oil to steaming water. (You can add 1 drop of Eucalyptus for path opening synergy).

The Campaign Store: Close your eyes. Place a large towel over your head and on the bowl to create a "tent" that catches steam.

The Extraction: Inhale slowly and deeply through the mouth and nose for 5 to 10 minutes. Hot steam will drive Hyssop ketones to the deepest alveols of your lungs. Get the tissues ready, because in 15 minutes you'll start flushing the infection out of your chest.

Every generation has things it considers safe, modern and scientifically proven.

Then, years later, people sometimes look back and ask:

“How did they ever think that was safe?”

The people who followed that advice were not stupid.

They were simply trusting the best information available to them at the time.

Here are some examples.

1890s: The “Heroic” Cough Medicine

Your baby has a cough.

You buy Bayer's new cough medicine because it is advertised as a non-addictive alternative to morphine and is considered suitable for children.

The problem?

It contains heroin.

Yes, heroin.

Bayer marketed it as a powerful new medicine and even gave it a name derived from the German word for heroic.

What was considered modern medicine at the time would later become one of the world's most dangerous drugs.

1900s: Mercury for Teething Babies

Your baby is teething.

You use calomel powder on the baby's gums because it is a common treatment.

Calomel contains mercury, a toxic metal.

Some children developed a condition called pink disease.

Their hands and feet could become swollen and painful. Their skin could peel. Some children suffered terribly for months.

Some died.

A treatment that was once considered normal was exposing babies to mercury poisoning.

1910s: Crisco and the New “Modern” Fat

Your mother cooks with lard.

But you are told that Crisco is the modern alternative.

It was developed from cottonseed oil and became popular as a replacement for animal fats.

The problem was the process used to turn liquid vegetable oil into a solid cooking fat.

That process produced trans fats.

Trans fats are a type of fat that can increase harmful cholesterol and increase the risk of heart disease.

Decades later, governments would move to remove industrial trans fats from the food supply.

What was once marketed as modern and healthy eventually became something regulators wanted eliminated.

1920s: Radioactive Water for Health

You want more energy and better health.

So you take Radithor, a radioactive water product that was sold as a health treatment.

One wealthy American businessman, Eben Byers, reportedly drank around 1,400 bottles.

The result was horrific.

Radioactive poisoning destroyed his bones and severely damaged his body.

Part of his jaw had to be removed.

He was eventually buried in a lead-lined coffin because of the radioactivity remaining in his body.

Imagine drinking radioactive water because it was sold as a health product.

1930s: A Medicine Made With Antifreeze

A new drug called a sulfa medicine was being developed.

To make it easier to take as a liquid, a chemist dissolved it in diethylene glycol, a toxic chemical also used in some industrial applications and commonly associated with antifreeze.

The result was deadly.

More than 100 people died, many of them children.

The tragedy helped lead to major changes in American drug regulation and stronger requirements for demonstrating that medicines were safe before being sold.

1940s: Your Doctor Smokes During Surgery

Imagine lying on an operating table while your doctor is holding a cigarette.

At the time, cigarette advertising was everywhere.

Camel cigarettes were heavily promoted to doctors, and advertisements even claimed that more doctors smoked Camels than any other cigarette.

Smoking was not yet understood by the public as the enormous health threat we know today.

The cigarette companies had professional-looking advertisements, scientific claims and respected people appearing to support their products.

1950s: DDT Is Everywhere

Mosquitoes and other insects are a major problem.

DDT is a powerful insect killer.

So it is sprayed in homes, gardens and public places.

Children are exposed to it at school.

The scientist who discovered its powerful insect-killing properties, Paul Müller, received the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1948.

Later, serious concerns emerged about DDT's effects on wildlife and the environment.

Its use was eventually heavily restricted or banned in many countries.

1960s: The “Safe” Morning-Sickness Drug

Your wife is pregnant and suffering from morning sickness.

A drug called thalidomide is promoted as remarkably safe.

She takes it.

Then the terrible consequences become clear.

Thousands of babies around the world are born with severe birth defects, including missing or shortened arms and legs.

The disaster changed drug safety regulations around the world.

And it showed that a medicine can appear safe until it is tested in enough people under the right conditions.

1970s: Butter Out, Margarine In

You are told to reduce butter because saturated fat is considered dangerous for the heart.

So you switch to margarine.

Some margarines contain large amounts of trans fat, created during the industrial process used to harden vegetable oils.

Years later, the health risks of industrial trans fats became much clearer.

In the United States, the FDA moved to effectively eliminate artificial trans fats from the food supply.

The food people were encouraged to replace butter with became a health concern itself.

1980s: Take the Fat Out, Put the Sugar In

The low-fat message becomes stronger.

Food manufacturers remove fat from many products.

But there is a problem.

Fat gives food flavour and makes it satisfying.

So when fat is removed, something often has to replace it.

Sugar becomes an easy answer.

Low-fat and reduced-fat foods can still contain plenty of sugar.

Over the following decades, obesity rates rose dramatically in many countries.

Of course, obesity has many causes, including overall calorie intake, physical activity, genetics, environment and food availability.

But the simple message that “low fat automatically means healthy” turned out to be far more complicated.

1990s: OxyContin and the Addiction Crisis

Your doctor gives you OxyContin for pain.

You are told the risk of addiction is very low.

The drug becomes a major commercial success.

Then the opioid crisis grows.

The manufacturer, Purdue Pharma, later pleaded guilty in connection with the illegal marketing of opioids.

Millions of people became affected by opioid addiction and overdose.

Hundreds of thousands of Americans eventually died from opioid-related overdoses over the following decades.

A medicine can be useful for pain and still carry enormous risks when it is widely prescribed and aggressively marketed.

2000s: Vioxx for Your Knee Pain

Your knee hurts.

Your doctor prescribes Vioxx, a popular painkiller.

Then safety concerns grow.

In 2004, Merck withdrew Vioxx from the market after evidence showed an increased risk of cardiovascular problems.

The drug became one of the major examples used in discussions about drug safety, clinical trials and how medicines are monitored after they reach the public.

The Bigger Lesson

None of the people who followed these recommendations were necessarily stupid.

They were following the advice of doctors, scientists, regulators and respected institutions of their time.

That is what makes these stories so important.

The problem is not that science changes.

Science is supposed to change when better evidence appears.

The problem comes when we confuse:

“This is the best evidence we have right now”

with:

“This can never be wrong.”

And then comes the uncomfortable question...

What are we confidently recommending today that future generations might look back on and say:

“How did they ever believe that?”

Maybe some of today's ideas will survive every future test.

Maybe some will change.

Maybe some will be completely abandoned.

That is why questioning, testing and continuing to investigate are so important.

“Settled” should never mean “stop looking.”

Because the history of science shows us something very clearly:

History has a funny way of treating people who challenge popular beliefs.

Sometimes, the person everyone calls wrong turns out to be right.

And sometimes, they have to suffer before people finally listen.

Here are some remarkable examples.

James Lind, 1747

Sailors were dying from scurvy, a disease that causes weakness, bleeding gums and eventually death.

Many people believed it was caused by bad air or poor living conditions.

Lind tested different treatments on sailors and discovered something simple: citrus fruits like lemons and oranges helped stop scurvy.

But the Navy did not immediately accept his findings.

It took decades before the Navy fully adopted citrus as part of sailors' diets.

Ignaz Semmelweis, 1847

Doctors were going straight from examining dead bodies to helping women give birth.

They often did not wash their hands.

Mr Jeffy Farms; pls sir, I have 15m and want to go into farming particularly fish farming sir.

Me; good evening dearest, you can send me a direct message through my WhatsApp*********

A few minutes: thank you sir, it's me from Facebook. Sir, like I said I have saved up to 15m sir and I really love what you are doing and want you to pull me through.

Hi, firstly you don't do it because you see me doing it. You don't love it because you see me doing it. You are only seeing the results from afar not the work behind the close door.

Anyway, first I won't even advise you to go into fish farming if your capital is just 15m as a newbie. I won't equally advise you to go into any kind of production just as I have been telling my students.

Your 15m might not even construct fish ponds that can accommodate just 4000 juveniles to table size. Meanwhile, you will stuck fishes , feed them and it will take a maximum of 4 to 5 months to be ready for harvest.

The best way to grow your finances and increase your profitability is to shy away from any form of production for now. With this fish farm and the capital, it will take you 2 years to start making profit if everything goes well.

Meanwhile, this capital well channeled in the same fish market can give you great profit on a weekly turnover.

What I meant is that, you go get an oven. Get grill with farmers around your area, buy the same fish freshly from them and process them by adding value to it, packaged them well and sell to your neighbours or in the market. You can even open a mini shop for this same cause.

If you get 200kg worth of catfish add value to it, you are making roughly 50% of the return on the investment and this can be achieved on a weekly turnover.

If you do it for two years, this 15m can give you more than 50m to 70m revenue.

Number 1, you have created enough market awareness around your business a lot of people or customers are clinging to your brand

Number 2, You have built enough marketing capacity in these two years and have gained lots of practical experiences as well.

Number 3, you have your purchasing power in your pocket with lots of dementia capabilities who can serve as an offtaker.

Now, you can now go properly into fish farming and build a stand fish farm in your choice. Instead of gambling that 15m capital ma.

Look at another way, if you go to the commodity market now. This 15m can give you roughly 1m profit weekly turnover by trading any of the above commodities with huge demands.

You will build more capital, build more marketing stamina, and build more practical experiences instead of gambling your small capital.

This is how you build and grow ma. It's not by magic it's by strategies and serious more works.

She: sir, you have just saved a life sir. See you next month with my testimony sir. God bless you so much for us.

Me: see you too and best of luck 🤞🤞🤞

Shina Rambo, who terrorized South-West Nigeria and Benin City once spent N50 million in a day, drove 40 stolen cars in a convoy from Lagos to Benin Republic without being stopped.

Shina Rambo (now a Pastor in Ibadan) once pounded 27 babies to death, killed over 100 people to eat their tongues and slept with his own mother for spiritual "powers."

Shina Rambo is believed to have once escaped a police chase from Ibadan to Lagos on reverse! He said his spiritual wife (whose face nobody could see as she covered it because she was faceless) drove him around.

Shina Rambo spent 11 years in prison for countless crimes he committed. He was given an executive pardon for good behaviour.

Shina Rambo (now Evang. Matthew Oluwanifemi) ran away from home at 7, after his corrupt soldier dad tried to kill him for assembling his gun. His dad disfigured him with a cutlass when he was sleeping (this led to him running away). His dad used to bring blood stained money home..

Yes. Ketoconazole can cause liver injury, and in some cases it can be serious.
The risk is particularly important with oral ketoconazole tablets. Liver injury is much less of a concern with ketoconazole creams or shampoos, because very little is absorbed into the bloodstream.

Possible warning signs of liver injury include:
Yellow eyes or skin
Dark urine
Pale stools
Severe or persistent nausea
Loss of appetite
Unusual tiredness
Pain in the upper-right abdomen

If you're taking oral ketoconazole, it should generally only be used under medical supervision, with attention to liver function and drug interactions.

Have you ever heard of melanoma?
 melanoma-back.jpeg (Size: 29.12 KB / Downloads: 1)
Melanoma is a serious type of skin cancer. It develops in the cells that produce melanin, the pigment that gives your skin its color. It can spread to other parts of the body if not detected early.

Now here's something that caught my attention.

In the United States in 1935, the estimated lifetime risk of developing melanoma was about 1 in 1,500.

 melanoma-closeup.jpg (Size: 97.28 KB / Downloads: 1)

Today, the American Cancer Society estimates the lifetime risk at about 1 in 33 for White Americans.

That's a huge change.

Sources:
Rigel et al., Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/8632084/

American Cancer Society
https://www.cancer.org/cancer/types/mela...stics.html

We know that UV radiation from sunlight is a major risk factor, especially intense exposure and sunburn.

But there's an interesting part of the story.

You might think that the more time someone spends outdoors, the higher their melanoma risk must be. Yet some studies have found outdoor workers had similar, or sometimes even lower, risk than indoor workers.

That doesn't mean sunlight is harmless.

 melanoma-detection.jpeg (Size: 123.43 KB / Downloads: 1)

It suggests that how the body and skin respond to sunlight may matter too.

And this is where diet gets interesting.

During roughly the same period, the type of fat stored in Americans' bodies changed significantly.

Linoleic acid, an omega-6 fat found in soybean, corn, sunflower and similar oils, increased from about 9.1% of body-fat fatty acids in 1959 to 21.5% in 2008.

That's roughly a 136% increase.

Source:
Guyenet & Carlson, Advances in Nutrition (2015)
https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC4642429/

Does this prove that seed oils caused the increase in melanoma?

No.

But researchers have found that dietary fats can affect how skin responds to UV radiation.

 melanoma-details.jpg (Size: 51.92 KB / Downloads: 1)

Human studies have found that omega-3 fats from fish oil can increase resistance to UV-induced redness and affect some inflammatory responses. Animal studies have also found that different dietary fats can change the skin's response to UV damage.

Source:
Experimental Dermatology
https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full...11.01294.x

So we have an interesting question:

Could the fats we eat influence how our skin responds to sunlight?

That's very different from claiming that seed oils caused melanoma.

Melanoma has many known and possible risk factors, including UV exposure, sunburn, tanning beds, aging, travel, clothing, screening and changes in diagnosis.

The evidence does not currently prove that seed oils caused the melanoma increase.

But the possibility that diet can influence the skin's response to UV radiation is worth studying.

Instead of arguing about it, researchers could test it directly by comparing different dietary fat patterns under controlled UV exposure and measuring sunburn, inflammation, oxidative stress, DNA damage and precancerous changes.

We've spent decades asking what we should put on our skin.

Maybe it's time to also ask what we're putting into the body that builds it.

Selling Garri was once illegal in Nigeria !!

Every Nigerian knows what Garri is but did you know that there was a time in 1944 that selling Garri was illegal in Nigeria? 😱

The British colonial Government made it illegal for anyone to sell Garri privately, Garri became "Government treasure”

This actually happened during the era of the second World War. As we know the British were suffering at he hand of Germans and they were desperate to win the War, they needed money and resources so they pulled as many as they could get from their colonies, including Nigeria.

They built harbours, roads, Airfields, hospitals, anything to make their exploitation easier. Thousand of Nigerian Men were recruited into the Army to fight in the second World. Even at that, they still needed more.

They imposed some monetary policies and they rationed food so they could have enough to export for their wars. The government was in charge of food distribution and people would have to queue for days to buy Garri.

They wanted to tax market women. Then we had Halimatu Pelewura (Yorùbá citizen), a Nigerian woman led a protest to curb this action. British Government were like "British women pay tax, why should Nigerian women be any different" and Pelewura replied...

she said "All of Nigeria's wealth was being taken to Britain hence the British women could pay tax because they were Rich". She organized the market and told them to boycott sales of Garri to the Govt. This made the Govt and the security agents "declared war"

The Government started arresting those who sold Garri privately but NIGERIANS are very resourceful so the Fa-ya-wo got involved (Fa-ya-wo is what the Yorubas call Smugglers). The Fa-ya-wo would crawl on their bellys(hence their name) to steal Garri from government stores And sell in private. Garri had it own black market.

The govt found it very hard to solve this problem, they tried to bribe Halimatu Pelewura to come to their side but she didn't sell her conscience.

So when you see garri, or someone give you Garri show some respect oo .

Imagine it is 1925.

You visit your doctor because you feel weak and exhausted. He gives you a tonic and tells you to take a bottle every day.

You trust him. Why wouldn’t you?

You feel great.

But there is a problem.

The tonic contains radium dissolved in water.

Hundreds of thousands of bottles are sold. One wealthy businessman, Eben Byers, drinks around 1,400 bottles.

He dies in 1932 and is buried in a lead-lined coffin.

1948: THE BABY POWDER

Now move forward to 1948.

Your baby is crying because he is teething. A nurse tells you to rub a little powder on his gums twice a day.

You do exactly what you were told.

Months later, your baby's hands and feet become painfully red and swollen. Even normal daylight becomes difficult for him.

A child who was once healthy is now seriously ill.

The powder contains mercury.

Thousands of children develop a condition known as pink disease. Some die.

The product remains available until the 1950s.

1958: THE ROUTINE X-RAY

Your wife is seven months pregnant.

She is sent for a routine X-ray.

Nobody is worried.

She lies down, gets the X-ray and goes home.

But around this time, Oxford epidemiologist Alice Stewart discovers something alarming: an abdominal X-ray during pregnancy may significantly increase the risk of childhood cancer.

Many doctors refuse to accept her findings.

Routine X-rays during pregnancy continue for years before medical practice finally changes.

1983: THE TREATMENT THAT CARRIED HIV

Your son has hemophilia.

A new treatment means he no longer has to spend so many nights in the hospital.

You simply take a vial from the refrigerator and give him his treatment before school.

It seems like a miracle.

But the treatment is made from blood pooled from thousands of donors.

Some of the blood is contaminated with HIV.

About 1,250 British people with hemophilia become infected through these treatments.

Decades later, an official inquiry confirms what happened.

1989: THE HEART MEDICINE

You have just survived a heart attack.

Your heart monitor shows an irregular heartbeat, so doctors give you a drug designed to stop it.

It makes perfect sense.

If the heart is beating abnormally, shouldn't you give it medicine to make it beat normally?

Then researchers finally compare the drug with a placebo.

The results are shocking.

About 7.7% of patients taking the drug die within ten months, compared with about 3% receiving the placebo.

The trial is stopped early.

The treatment that was supposed to protect patients was actually killing some of them.
Her doctor recommends high-dose chemotherapy followed by a bone marrow transplant.
But the dangers have actually been known for decades.

Thousands of children have already been exposed before warnings become impossible to ignore.

The Federal Government has unveiled seven herbal medicines developed by the Nigeria Natural Medicine Development Agency (NNMDA) for the treatment or management of:

Hepatitis B
Peptic ulcer disease
Prostate, colorectal and ovarian cancers
High cholesterol
Hypertension
Erectile dysfunction (aphrodisiac)

The products include:
Namdavir: For hepatitis B
Namdacid: For peptic ulcers
Turmegol: help prevent or slow the progression of certain cancers
Namdorol: For high cholesterol and hypertension
Namgor: Aphrodisiac
Zobo Tea: For hypertension

The Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Kingsley Udeh, said Nigeria has abundant medicinal plants and pledged support for a Clinical Observational Research Centre and increased funding to strengthen research and commercialisation.

NNMDA Director-General Martins Emeje said the agency has developed over 22 herbal products since 2023 and aims to reduce drug importation by producing standardised herbal medicines in forms such as capsules, tablets and syrups. He also claimed one of the products could create 3.5 million jobs if fully commercialised.
The article reports these products have been unveiled by the government, but it does not state that they have completed the large-scale clinical trials typically required to establish safety and effectiveness to the same standard as approved conventional medicines. Independent clinical evidence would still be important before drawing firm conclusions about their medical benefits.

I hope you know that whatever you promised to do for them in return to grant you your requests, that even your children will keep paying for your ignorance when you die and even your children children. ?
I hope you know that if you eventually get tired of appeasing them and making the necessary sacrifices required and run to church, that you will still not escape from them? Except you're delivered and you truely gave your life to Christ.
I hope you know God does not interfere where there is a covenant?
I hope you're aware that the day you went on that journey that you gave them access to your house, infact they now live with you in your house unknowingly to you?

For two thousand years the settled treatment for almost any illness was to open a vein and drain the patient.

In 1799 it helped see off George Washington.

1847: Semmelweis showed handwashing took childbed deaths from one in six to almost none. Insulted, his colleagues ran him out, and he died in an asylum.

1900s: they sold radium as a health tonic and fitted children's shoes by X-ray in the shop. Then the jaws and the feet started to rot.

1949: they gave the Nobel Prize in Medicine to the lobotomy. A decade later it was a byword for butchery.

1950s: they prescribed thalidomide to pregnant women and swore it was gentle. Then the babies arrived.

1960s: they whipped out millions of children's tonsils on sight. Then they checked, found most never needed it, and stopped.

Every one of those was the settled science of its day. The journals, the committees, the experts, and a special contempt for the doubters.

Every one moved.

So look at what carries that same certainty now:
A statin for every middle-aged adult.

An acid blocker for life.

An antidepressant in a ten-minute slot.

A weight-loss jab you must never come off.

All of it said in the same confident voice. Backed by the same kind of committee.

The doubters have a better track record than the consensus does.

They always have.

I am a retired U.S. Army Intelligence Special Agent. Every day I create a digital magazine with political news, nutrition updates and historical information built on facts, analysis, and sometimes humorous satire.

She Was Sentenced to Die for a Crime She Didn't Commit

Imagine if this happened in Nigeria today...

A respected married woman asks her servants to leave the garden so she can enjoy a private bath.
As soon as they leave, two elderly judges, who had secretly been hiding and watching her, come out of their hiding place.

These were not ordinary men. They were leaders, trusted to uphold justice.
Instead, they demanded that she sleep with them.

Then came the threat:
"If you refuse us, we'll tell everyone we caught you committing adultery with a young man. Everyone will believe us, and you'll be put to death."

Susanna had a choice.
Sin against God to save her life...
Or remain faithful and risk execution.

She chose righteousness.
"I would rather fall into your hands without doing this evil than sin against God."
The two judges carried out their threat.

Because they were respected, everyone believed them.

Susanna was arrested, put on trial, and sentenced to death.

Social media would have already judged her.
The headlines would have called her guilty.
The public would have moved on.

But as she was being led away to die, Susanna cried out to God.
Then a young man named Daniel stood up and said the case should be heard again.

He separated the two witnesses and asked each of them one simple question:
"Under what tree did you see the woman with the young man?"

One judge named one kind of tree.
The other named a different one.
Their lies collapsed instantly.
Susanna was declared innocent.
The two corrupt judges received the very punishment they had planned for her.
This is not today's news.
This is the Book of Susanna, a remarkable story found in the Catholic and Orthodox versions of the Book of Daniel.
It reminds us that:

Not every accusation is true.

Not every respected person is trustworthy.

Justice requires evidence, not assumptions.

Truth may be delayed, but it can still prevail.

Before you believe the next accusation you read online, remember Susanna.
Sometimes, all it takes to expose a lie is asking the right question.
