Will Chicken Wire Work in Rabbit Cage? - Kiwi - 02-08-2015

Is it possible to use chicken wire to build rabbit cage?

Not good. The wire is very thin and it will cut the rabbit's foot pads. Use thick wire mesh instead.

In addition, the wire gauge (i.e. the wire thickness) should not be more than 16 gauge. Checkout this thread for other details: http://www.farmersjoint.com/Thread-Rabbits-Rabbit-Cage-Question

Not good even for the sides. Rabbits can bite through the wire.

Why import cages when you can build it here? Is it not cheaper that way?
