Can layers and broilers be brooded together? - Hilux - 12-17-2014

Will there be any problem if layers and broilers are brooded together?

They can be successfully brooded together, but they should be separated before broilers are switched to finisher or when they become too big for the layers.

Yes they can for the first few days. But it will be better if you start off with the layers for 2 weeks before introducing the broilers. This is because broilers grow fast and may crush the slow-growing layer chicks.
