Selling Tilapia Fish - Henlus - 11-08-2014 Is there market for tilapia fish in Nigeria, especially the south-east region? I’ve visited several markets but I’ve not seen anyone selling tilapia. Does it mean there is no demand for it? What if it is smoked and sold as smoked fish? RE: Selling Tilapia Fish - Donk - 11-14-2014 There should be. If not just smoke it and sell. I've once seen it in Lagos. RE: Selling Tilapia Fish - Henlus - 11-23-2014 Yes, I've been considering that smoking. RE: Selling Tilapia Fish - FarmKing - 11-25-2014 Smoking would be nice RE: Selling Tilapia Fish - Manihot - 12-20-2014 And tilapia seems to be cheaper to raise, cheaper than catfish. You can even feed them mainly duckweed and cereals. RE: Selling Tilapia Fish - infotainment - 01-17-2015 tilapia farming is another cash cow d fish farmers are venturing into now, cheap to farm and there is also technology of turning all the fries in to male so as not to over crowd the pond RE: Selling Tilapia Fish - Henlus - 01-18-2015 (01-17-2015, 09:40 PM)infotainment Wrote: tilapia farming is another cash cow d fish farmers are venturing into now, cheap to farm and there is also technology of turning all the fries in to male so as not to over crowd the pond You're right bro, I've come across it somewhere, it involves the use of one hormone like that. It floats on water and under the right condition of temperature, nutrient, no wind etc, they grow very very fast. A 20kg duckweed can become 40kg in 2 days time. That's how fast they can grow. They are also rich in protein, especially when dried. RE: Selling Tilapia Fish - jesusbaby6 - 01-25-2016 This is the first time I am hearing about duckweed. That is because if I raise like 1000 fish or more, I may not have the time and resources to sell such a number directly.
