How Will You Control Snakes? - FarmTech - 01-11-2015
Areas with large expanse of agricultural land are always remote areas where there’s likely to be snakes and other God-knows-what creatures. What measure will you put in place to control snakes? And those areas are not that close to hospitals!

I'll prefer guinea fowls and peacocks. These two can deal with snakes - and you can also eat them, unlike cats.

The use of guinea-fowl/peacocks might be limited in application to a poultry farm.

@Asokem, why did you say that? Because guinea fowls and peacock will be better use with other animals except chickens because they are carriers of some chicken diseases.

Keep the environment clean and control rats bc they're attracted to rats. Also close any crack in their pen. Clear anything thing the snakes might hide in and plant some snake repellant.

Aloe vera does not repel snakes. But its a very good herb that promotes animal and human health. I planted some.

i thought the unevenness of the spikes is not comfortable for snakes or other animals. we were advised to plant Aloe Vera around our homestead for that reason.

Snakes can comfortably move through aloe. I read some where that phenol, a chemical can repel snakes and rodents.
